"A bowler's bowler"
Dennis Amiss
former Warwickshire batsman ,now their chief executive
Allan Donald's first season for Warwickshire - 1987 - was my last, and after facing him in an early-season practice match I realized I was going out of the game at the right time. He was, and still is, a Warwickshire Bear in every sense. Total commitment, total team player and a total club man - and therefore a totally good bloke.

"A bowler's bowler"
former West Indies fast bowler turned journaliast
Colin Croft
My most vivid memory of Donald comes from the second Test of the 1998-99 series against the West Indies. He'd been firing on all cylinders in the first Test, and the West Indies batsmen were worried about his speed and aggression. So worried that opener philo Wallace came down with a mysterious glandular fever from which he recovered miraculously a day later. Another opener, Stuart Williams, announced that he had gout and would have to bat at No.7
It's sad to see Allan Donald leave Test cricket, but he has served his country well for 10 years. In this day and age, 10 years of cricket is a lifetime.
